Dr. Antje Draheim – State Secretary

Curriculum vitae

Dr. Antje Draheim was born in the Hanseatic City of Rostock. After receiving her Abitur university entrance qualification there, she studied law in Potsdam and Tübingen, graduating with the Second State Examination. She went on to complete her doctorate at the German University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer.

Between 2003 and 2012, Draheim held various executive functions at the Federal Employment Agency in Nuremberg. In 2012, she switched to the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Equality of the Land of Mecklenburg Western Pomerania, to serve as Head of the Directorate-General “Labour”. After the ministries’ reshuffle following the 2016 Land parliamentary elections, she became Head of the Directorate-General “Youth and Family Affairs” at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Integration and Gender Equality of the Land of Mecklenburg Western Pomerania. Since 4 June 2019, Dr. Antje Draheim was State Secretary for Federal Affairs and Commissioner of the Land of Mecklenburg Western Pomerania to the Federation. On 15 November 2021, she went on to be appointed State Secretary at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Sports.

On 8 December 2021, Dr. Draheim took up the post of State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Health in Bonn/Berlin.
