DART 2020 - 2nd Interim Report 2017
In May 2015, the World Health Assembly (WHA) adopted the Global Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance developed by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in conjunction with the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) and the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO). The centralelement of the Global Action Plan consists of the call on member states toprepare multisectoral National Action Plans based on the One Health conceptwithin a period of two years.
Germany is leading the way with its Antimicrobial Resistance Strategy (DART 2020) and is supporting the implementation of the Global ActionPlan. DART 2020 was developed jointly by the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG), the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and the FederalMinistry of Education and Research (BMBF) and adopted by the Federal Cabinet in May 2015.
This second report describes the progress achieved through measures implemented at the national and international levels and provides an outlook on the activities that have been planned for the coming years.
